High pressure laminate bonded to birch plywood, pressed to order at our workshop in Plymouth. Birch is the core to choose when the edge will be seen: its layers are clean and even, so an exposed edge looks deliberate rather than unfinished. Any of our 750+ decors, in 4mm, 15mm or 18mm.
Why birch
- The edge can stay on show. Plenty of people leave it exposed as a design feature instead of banding it.
- Strong where it takes weight. Beds, seat bases, worktops and shelving that has to carry a load.
- Holds a screw well, so it’s a good choice for furniture that gets taken apart and put back together.

How we make it
Every sheet is pressed for the order it belongs to. We bond the laminate to the birch with a two-pack, heat-cured resin at 70°C and 150kg/cm², on both faces as standard so the board stays flat. 4mm can be laminated on one side for linings fixed flat to a wall.
What it’s used for
Furniture and kitchens
Carcasses, doors and shelving, with the birch edge on show or banded to match.
Counters and desks
Reception desks and shop counters that take daily knocks.
CNC-cut shapes
Clean birch layers make cut profiles look finished straight off the machine.
Also campervan beds, seat bases and worktops, where the board carries people. See campervan furniture boards.
Edges
Leave the birch edge on show, or we can band it in a colour that matches the face. See edge banding.
Cut to size
Send a cutting list or a DXF and we’ll cut your parts on our CNC. See cut to size.
